Abstract

A series of [B<sub>12</sub>H<sub>12</sub>]<sup>2−</sup>, [B<sub>10</sub>H<sub>10</sub>]<sup>2−</sup> and [B<sub>6</sub>H<sub>7</sub>]<sup>−</sup> salts were prepared with excellent hydrolytic and thermal stabilities (<italic>T</italic><sub>d</sub> &gt; 200 °C), especially ultra-fast ignition delay times (as low as 1 ms) upon contact with white fuming nitric acid or N<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4,</sub> which is a superior ignition performance.
