The authors construct perturbative solutions in a cubic scalar field theory which can be mapped to classical solutions in gauge theories using the same ``double copy'' correspondence that connects gauge theory amplitudes to gravity amplitudes. This provides the first step (leading order in perturbation theory) for a correspondence between gravity and a scalar field theory with much simpler Feynman rules.
