Fungal Parasites of Dwarf Mistletoes

Abstract

SUMMARYStudies on three fungal hyperparasites on Arceuthobium spp. are reported. Wallrothiella arceuthobii attacks only the spring-flowering Arceuthobia. Septogloeum gillii on A. campylopodum f. laricis and Colletotrichum glocosporioidcs on A. campylopodum f. campylopodum, A. campylopodum f. laricis, and A. douglasii are new host records. Pestalotia maculiformans is reported to occur on A. campylopodum f. abietinum. The potential of these fungi as biologic agents of control is discussed.
