The Fe-doping of hierarchical Co hydroxide nanosheet arrays (Co<sub>y</sub>Fe<sub>1−y</sub>(OH)<sub>x</sub>NSAs) integrated on a three-dimensional electrode is shown to contribute to both increasing the available surface area and number of active sites.
