A ternary composite of polypyrrole/copper oxide/europium oxide (PPY/CuO/Eu<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>), synthesized <italic>via</italic> a facile <italic>in situ</italic> chemical oxidative polymerization method, exhibits the maximum specific capacitance of 320 F g<sup>−1</sup> at the current density of 1 A g<sup>−1</sup>.
