A novel partially reflecting and absorbing surface (PRAS) antenna is proposed at C-band. This antenna achieves both in-band and out-of-band reduction of the radar cross section (RCS). Furthermore, the gain of antenna is improved. Results show that the peak gain of the PRAS antenna element can be up to 12.3 dB among the working frequency, and its RCS is reduced in a broad frequency range from 5 to 13 GHz. Compared to the traditional patch antenna, 25-dB in-band RCS reduction and 15-dB out-of-band RCS reduction are achieved.
