Two of the 19 ammonoid species known from Permian localities of Australia are from New South Wales; the others are from sedimentary basins in Western Australia where the Permian is represented by marine or paralic beds. The faunas are compared with those of type and classic reference sections throughout the world, and the subdivisions of the Permian are discussed in terms of correlation of the ammonoid-bearing strata. New species are represented in the forms systematically described.
