A method is presented by which the compressive capacity and load-settlement characteristics of large drilled shafts can be computed from commonly executed soil and rock tests. The method is predicated primarily on the analysis of loading tests in a data base and is limited to conditions represented in that data base. The method can be applied in a straightforward manner without the use of a computer.
