Abstract

ABSTRACT The manufacturing equipment used in a manufacturing line is the result of a long learning process, and may be in a totality a result of internal development, imitation (copy), external acquisition, parallel replication, combination/permutation and selection of multiple capabilities and know-how. Investments in manufacturing technologies are, by and large a non-reversible fact, it represent long-term commitments to adhere to a strategic plan/process at a given time and it is costly [1] . Automation integration in manufacturing lines is a mandate for the electronic industry, however simple integration may not be the ultimate target, and a flexible integration framework with inherent intelligence is required to accommodate the ever changing technologies and roadmap. The automation solutions of tomorrow will not only consistently accomplish what is expected, but also will be designed to adapt to the unexpected or unknown at present. Algorithm providing automation intelligence are in the rise, Adaptive Controls systems of various types are investigated and implemented for the process of controlling quality and volumetric accuracy and repeatability of fluid dispensing in high volume manufacturing robots for micro-electronics packages.
