Abstract Thermoluminescent characteristics are presented of MgB4O7:Mn, a newly developed nearly tissue-equivalent phosphor, with a simple glow curve, high sensitivity, without fading over a few months, and attractive features for dosimetric application. The dosimetric properties of this TL material examined in this study include TL sensitivity, emission spectra long-term fading, photon dose response, dose threshold, re-usability and photon energy response.
