Optimal time switching and power splitting in SWIPT

Simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) has drawn significant research interest in recent years. This paper investigates the data outage and energy shortage probability of SWIPT system for a generalized On-off power splitting architecture. All links are subject to Weibull fading. We also derive a closed-form expression for optimal value of time switching parameter and power splitting factor to balance the rate-energy trade-off at the receiver. Numerical and simulation results are provided to validate the derived results.
