Effectiveness of a psychoeducational programme in enhancing motivation to change alcohol‐addictive behaviour

Abstract

The psychoeducational programme could assist clinical nurses in helping alcohol-dependent patients to recognise the nature of their problematic drinking; increase participants' ambivalence towards their drinking behaviour, leading to the contemplation of change; and strengthen the possibility that they will change their addictive behaviour.
