Paul Bouffartigue and Jean-René Pendariès Special Forms of Employment and the Management of Semiskilled Women Workers. The analysis of how women cashiers are managed in a superstore sheds new light on this particular form of employment. The «cash register area» is not merely a «peripheral» segment in the distribution process. Special attention is paid to the procedures, transactions and compromises whereby such an internal secondary segment can be created in employment.
