Abstract

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) uses a photosensitizer, light, and molecular oxygen to selectively kill cells. The expanding use of this relatively new therapeutic modality in dermatology at many centers around the world has revealed its efficacy for the treatment of skin malignancies and selected benign skin disorders. This review is focused on the development of utilizing PDT in skin diseases from bench to clinical works in Taiwan.
