In this letter, an analytical design of the cross polarization converter is proposed in microwave regime. The gangbuster metasurface is constructed by the periodic metallic cutlines placed on the substrate layer with back metallic sheet. Based on the circuit model and network transmission theory, the reflection coefficients of the metasurface can be calculated even though the substrate layer or metallic elements change. Conversely, when the resonant frequencies and substrate layer are previously given according to the actual situation, the geometric parameters of the metasurface can be analytically solved. Theoretical and simulated results are highly consistent for three different designed cross polarization converters, and one polarization converter is verified to work with the minimal conversion efficiency of 99.36% from 18 to 22 GHz.
