Abstract A nickel bis(dithiolene) complex nanosheet fabricated from benzenehexathiol and nickel(II) acetate in a bottom-up fashion exhibits semiconductivity, thereby being potentially useful as an electronics material. In the present communication we perform stepwise layering of the nanosheet in high density, taking advantage of the Langmuir–Schäfer method.
