The Family Philosciidae (Crustacea Oniscoidea) in Africa, South of the Sahara

Abstract

SUMMARYThe family Philosciidae (Crustacea Oniscoidea) is represented in Africa by 22 genera and this review includes the diagnosis for each and lists the African species. However, in some instances, a study of the type-material is necessary in order to formulate a satisfactory and complete diagnosis. The genera Afrophiloscia and Uluguroscia are described as new, and several species are described or re-described.
