SUMMARYThe concept of the genus Campylothorax Schött, 1893 (Collembola Entomobryidae Paronellinae) is revised in this investigation and a redefinition is given on the basis of an evalution of taxonomic characters. Altogether seven species are dealt with of which one is new from Zaire, Africa. A new form of cuticular ornamentation is observed under S.E.M. for this genus including a new chaetotaxic pattern which is termed the « Parachaetose » condition. Affinities and biogeography are also discussed.
