Absence of positive selection on CenH3 in<i>Luzula</i>suggests that holokinetic chromosomes may suppress centromere drive

Abstract

The results indicate that holokinetism itself may suppress centromere drive and, therefore, holokinetic chromosomes might have evolved as a defence against centromere drive.
