Harmonic Scalpel versus Monopolar Electrocauterization in Cholecystectomy

Abstract

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy using conventional monopolar electrocautery is as effective and safe as that with the Harmonic scalpel, for treating uncomplicated cholecystitis and cholelithiasis.
