Abstract

SummaryThe basic expression of Faraday's Laws of Electrolysis may be manipulated to describe a range of metal finishing and related processes. Examples include electroplating, corrosion of metals, electrowinning, electrolytic removal of metal ions from solution and the generation of redox species. In each case, the application of Faraday's Laws is illustrated by means of a worked example.
