Being asked to review Goodman and Gilman is a lot like being asked to comment on motherhood. The stature of G & G , the blue bible of pharmacology, is intimidating. For a reviewer reared in its teachings, it is difficult to find fault. Luckily, in keeping with the textbook's tradition, this new edition is virtually without fault. The book covers an everincreasing body of knowledge in crisp, clear language and its time-honored, familiar format. The eighth edition marks the 50th anniversary of the textbook.
