Application of computed tomography to the most recently recognized specimen of Archaeopteryx demonstrates the potential of this technique for paleontological issues. Contrary to earlier interpretations of these specimens, the results of computed tomography appear to show the presence of an avian-like doubled-headed quadrate bone in this earliest true bird.
