Abstract

(Uploaded by Plazi for the Bat Literature Project) Two species of Australian vespertilionids were karyologically studied, Falsistrellus tasmaniensis and Scotorepens balstoni. The Falsistrellus karyotype is composed of 44 chromosomes and, apart from some minor differences, is identical with those of other Australian Vespertilioninae described previously. Scotorepens balstoni displays a unique karyotype consisting of 30 chromosomes.
