Narrow band deep-red emission SrLiAl<sub>3</sub>N<sub>4</sub>:Eu<sup>2+</sup> phosphor was effectively synthesized using complex nitride Sr<sub>3</sub>Al<sub>2</sub>N<sub>4</sub> and Li<sub>3</sub>AlN<sub>2</sub> as raw materials. The phosphor exhibited strong deep-red emission peaking at 654 nm under excitation at 450 nm.
