Germination variability of seeds from different sources, effect of seed collection stage and influence of different presowing treatments on germination were studied for Bauhinia vahlii Wight & Arnott. Seed lots of different populations showed significant variability (P<0.05) in their germination response. Shattered seeds collected from the ground proved to be the most appropriate stage for achieving optimum germination. GA, soaking treatment in 500 ppm solution for 12 hours significantly (P<0.05) enhanced seed germination percentage to 91.73% against 65.0% in control.
