Sedimentation rates under fish farms may be very high, and high\nlevels of fish stock may lead to harmful accumulation rates of\nthe nutrient salt ammonia. The environmental effects of the\norganic load range from minor changes to heavy pollution, depending\nmostly on the hydrography and topography. Fish farms seem\nto have a different environmental impact than that of sewage,\nand it may be inappropriate to measure their outputs in terms\nof Biological Oxygen Demand.
