Abstract The oxidative dimerization of 2‐phenylpyridine derivatives using cobalt catalysis is reported. Three types of reaction conditions were developed with different loadings of cobalt catalyst. Cross coupling of two different 2‐arylpyridines using cobalt catalysis proceeded with modest yields and selectivity.
