Our results indicate that concurrent NMES on abdominal wall and lumbar paraspinal area is most effective to maximally activate deep lumbar stabilizers. Rehabilitative efforts for patients with LBP may benefit from simultaneous transcutaneous NMES of abdominal and lumbar regions.
