SummaryUsing the principles incorporated in the Hull cell a series of innovative cell designs has been studied in which electrode rotation has been employed as a means of providing quantified agitation. Two designs incorporate rotating cylinder electrodes and two use rotating cone electrodes. The latter two provide reasonably systematic data and the cell using an inverted cone mode is believed to give the best results. Experimental data are presented and the manner of use of such a ‘Dynamic Hull Cell’ indicated.
