The measurement results of calcination time of different limestones are presented in the paper. The samples for the experiment were prepared from the Jurassic limestone, Pre-Cambrian marble and Triassic limestone, therefore the properties of samples are different for different samples. The properties of limestone are shown. They have crucial impact on the calcination time. It is found out that the porosity of limestone is not the only criterion for determination of calcination time and not only heat and mass transfer are important for determination of limestone calcination time. The well-known impact of removing carbon dioxide from the ambient of limestone on reduction of calcination time is presented, too. The relation between natural logarithm of the reduced calcination time vs. the dimension of the samples is very well described by linear regression function. The coefficients of correlation R 2 have values greater than 0,95.
