Cells from the ovaries of late final instal' silkworms have undergone mitosis in hanging-drop preparations for 19 days and survived for 29 days in a medium consisting of \Vyatt's solution plus 10 components of the vitamin B complex, cholesterol, and extracts of endocrine and ovarian tissues. Attempts to subculture the cells met with only partial success.
