Abstract

Ornamental vegetables, medicinal and aromatic plant species with their ground covering properties, various leaf forms, color and texture characteristics, and attractive fruit forms and colors contribute to the planting design through their aesthetic and functional quality. Urban landscape areas can be designed in order to produce, grow, and introduce endemic or endangered plant species, especially ornamental vegetables, medicinal and aromatic plants. These plants, planted either solitary or in groups, have a wide range of use in collection gardens, flower beds, villa gardens, plant boxes and roof gardens. In this study, after giving general information of the selected species, their uses, their aesthetic and functional purposes as well as economical contributions were defined.
