Abstract

A technique is described for the collection of follicular fluid from the ovary of nonhuman primates by one individual using laparoscopy. Using the laparoscopic ancillary equipment described, the technique has application in physiological studies on the fertilizable life of the ovum, in vitro fertilization, sperm capacitation and other related investigations which depend on the in vivo recovery of an ovum near its normal ovulation time. The method allows such recovery without major surgical exploration.
