This study is the first report to include a comparison of skin type and threshold sensitivity to each of the 3 major types of ultraviolet irradiation to which individuals are subjects: UVB, UVA and PUVA. Forty-seven medical students (23 females and 24 males; aged 22 to 28 years) of Caucasoid complexion volunteered for and gave their informed consent to the study
