Abstract

Abstract A quick reliable spectrophotometric method for the determination of Antabus in whole blood and plasma has been developed. Antabus disappears rapidly from the blood-stream of rabbits who have been administered doses as high as the LD 50 (1 Gm. per kilogram). There is no correlation between blood levels of Antabus and the amount of drug ingested. There is apparently no accumulation of Antabus in the tissues of patients undergoing Antabus therapy.
