For the majority of endoscopically benign colonic polyps, an oncologic colonic resection may be unnecessary, so advanced endoscopic resection techniques or laparoscopic-assisted polypectomy should be considered. When bowel resection is needed, the resection should be performed, obeying oncologic principles and techniques.
