Abstract

Drug-induced modifications of laboratory test values are tabulated; included is information on normal values, test method affected, mechanism of interference, alternate test procedures, duration of alteration, result of alteration, and references. An introductory discussion points out that clinical laboratory test results may he affected by a variety of factors, including time of specimen collection; method of determination; the patient's age, sex, diet, emotional state and degree of exercise; as well as drugs.
