Abstract

This paper summarizes the results of field surveys on the Trichogramma species parasitizing Asian Corn Borer, Ostrinia furnacalis, conducted during the 1970's through 1980's. Over 15,000 male Trichogramma specimens collected in 13 provinces were examined. Sixteen species in two genera (Trichogramma and Oligosita) were collected, of which 12 species were identified. T. ostriniae Pang and Chen was found to be predominant in all the locations surveyed except in Heilongjiang and Guizhou Provinces. In Heilongjiang, 7. dendrolimi was the dominant species. Shifts of dominant species in different years were observed in Liaoning and Jilin Province. It was 7, ostriniae during the 1970's, but 7. dendrolimi. in the 1980's.
