uMMAm' 1<B cells from man fuse \\, GII with HeLa cells and with FL cells of ITUman origiiT due to HVj and giant cells composed of t\\, o different cells were frequently found.1<B cells also fuse well with L cells, Ehrlicll ascites tumor cells of mouse origiiT and PS cells from pig. However, mouse embryo fibroblasts scarcely fuse witlT Ehrlicl\ ascites tumor cells or KB cells These results show that giant cell formation by fusion between cells of two different strains occurs \\, GII only among sucl\ cells as malignant cells or undif}erentiated cells of CStablished tissue culture strains and is not affected 11y the spedes from whicll the cells originate. The results also suggest that the surface of these cells has lost some spedficity.Fuscd giant cells formed from hornologous cells synthesized DNA and RNA in the same manner as normal singlc cells.
