Glutathione reductase from germinated peas

Abstract

ISHERWOOD 60-70 % of the disulphide was reduced; with 10 mx-KCN, 15 min. was necessary for the completion of the reaction (40-50 % of the disulphide regenerated as GSH). At lower concentrations, no measurable reduction of GSSG occurred within 1-5 hr. at room temperature. We therefore employed KCN at concentrations of 10-100 mm in the enzyme experiments described in the text.
