Abstract

IN two of the earlier papers of this series we have described the phosphatides present in the fraction of the ether extract obtained by adding excess of acetone to the ethereal solution. This so-called phosphatide fraction contains in the present case two substances which do not contain phosphorus, and in this paper we describe our investigations into the chemical nature of these compounds which appear in the phosphatide fraction by reason of their in- solubility in ether-acetone.
