The mature larvae of twelve species of aquatic insects (Trichoptera, Diptera, Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Odonata) were tested to determine their relative sensitivity to heated waters in the laboratory. The temperature at which 50% died after 96 hours (TLm’8) was recorded as the lethal temperature. This ranged from 21∞C, for winter stoneflies to 33∞C. for dragonflies.
