Abstract

In RA, VEGF is synthesized and released by a large number of subsynovial macrophages, fibroblasts surrounding microvessels, vascular smooth muscle cells, and synovial lining cells and may stimulate endothelial proliferation in a paracrine manner via VEGF receptors.
