Abstract A technique for the measurement of cerebrospinal fluid C3 in unconcentrated specimens has been developed using simple equipment based on the principles of electroimmunodiffusion and immunofixation. The method has proven to be reproducible, and the data compare favorably with an accepted technique which uses different principles. Seven microliters in duplicate are required for the determination. The range (mean ± 1 S.D.) for 29 normal specimens was 448 ± 156 μg per 100 ml.
