Abstract

IL-1ra lessens the acute hemodynamic, hypothermic, and mortal effects of gram-negative sepsis induced by CLP in rats. These data suggest that IL-1 receptor blockade may be an important new treatment strategy against overwhelming bacterial sepsis.
