Abstract

Unfavourable alterations in LV loading conditions contribute to the development of LV hypertrophy and impairment systolic dysfunction in morbidly obese subjects. Increasing LV mass and altered loading conditions may synergistically contribute to impairment of LV diastolic filling in such individuals.
