SummaryThe percentage of Schistosoma mansoni cercariae that successfully penetrated and matured in mice was found to be strongly influenced by environmental temperature. The optimal temperature for penetration was between 30° and 35°C; however, penetration took place at all temperatures tested between 10° and 40°C.
