Of these patients 27 received MPG for more than 1 year. The results were satisfactory. Cystine tones were dissolved completely or markedly in 7 of 21 patients and formation of new cystine stones was prevented in 23 of 27. MPG therapy was associated with fewer side effects than are reported generally with D-penicillamine. © 1982 by The American Urological Association Education and Research, Inc.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited byKoide T, Yoshioka T, Yamaguchi S, Utsunomiya M and Sonoda T (2018) A Strategy of Cystine Stone ManagementJournal of Urology, VOL. 147, NO. 1, (112-114), Online publication date: 1-Jan-1992.Kachel T, Vijan S and Dretler S (2018) Endourological Experience With Cystine Calculi and a Treatment AlgorithmJournal of Urology, VOL. 145, NO. 1, (25-28), Online publication date: 1-Jan-1991.Singer A and Das S (2018) Cystinuria: A Review of the Pathophysiology and ManagementJournal of Urology, VOL. 142, NO. 3, (669-673), Online publication date: 1-Sep-1989.Dean Knoll L, Segura J, Patterson D, Leroy A and Smith L (2018) Long-Term Followup in Patients with Cystine Urinary Calculi Treated by Percutaneous Ultrasonic LithotripsyJournal of Urology, VOL. 140, NO. 2, (246-248), Online publication date: 1-Aug-1988.Saltzman N and Gittes R (2018) Chemolysis of Cystine CalculiJournal of Urology, VOL. 136, NO. 4, (846-849), Online publication date: 1-Oct-1986.
