Association between fetal overgrowth and metabolic parameters in cord blood of newborns of women with GDM.

Abstract

These results show that GDM altered neonatal plasma lipids metabolism and so newborns of diabetic mothers may be predisposed early in life to LDL hypercholesterolemia and thus may be at a greater risk of developing coronary heart disease later in life.
